Privacy Policy
1. General
This privacy policy applies to the mobile application Muru ("the Application"), developed by Kimi Lempinen ("the Developer").
The Developer respects user privacy and processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR within the EU/EEA).
2. What information is collected?
2.1 Personal and Health Data
To provide personalized nutritional guidance, Muru may process information provided by the user, such as age, gender, height, weight, activity level, and nutritional goals.
2.2 Third-Party Data Collection (AdMob & Wearables)
The Application uses Google AdMob for advertising and may integrate with health services (e.g., Garmin, Apple Health). These services may automatically collect:
- Basic device information (e.g., device type, operating system)
- Advertising identifiers (see section 3)
- Diagnostic data (e.g., crash reports and performance metrics)
- Activity data (e.g., steps or calories burned) if authorized by the user
3. Tracking and Identifiers
3.1 Tracking
The Developer does not track users across different applications or websites for their own purposes. Any potential tracking is related solely to third-party services (e.g., ad networks) according to their own privacy policies.
3.2 IDFA and App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
On iOS devices, the Application requests App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission before the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) is used for tracking across apps and websites.
The IDFA identifier is used only if the user gives explicit consent through Apple's ATT system. If permission is not granted, the IDFA identifier is not used.
3.3 Advertising Identifiers (Android)
On Android devices, Google may use advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID) to deliver and measure advertising in accordance with user device settings and Google's policies.
4. Data Sharing
The Developer does not sell or share user data with third parties. Technical information related to advertising is processed by Google AdMob.
More information: Google Privacy Policy.
5. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA)
Processing of health-related data is based on the user's explicit consent provided within the Application. Technical processing for advertising is based on legitimate interest (funding the Application via ads) unless applicable law requires consent.
Users can change or withdraw their consent at any time through the device settings or by deleting the Application data.
6. Data Retention
Personal health data is stored locally on the device or in secured cloud databases as part of the service. Advertising data is retained by Google AdMob according to their own retention periods.
7. International Data Transfers
Third-party services (like Google) may process data outside the EU/EEA (e.g., in the United States) in accordance with applicable safeguards.
8. User Rights
Users have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of their data. As the Developer minimizes the storage of personal identity data, these rights are primarily exercised through the Application's settings and device-level ad settings.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated. The current version is always available at this URL.
